In 2006, the Ditidaht People took over the operations of the world renowned Windsurf Nitinaht Lake Campground. This place is renowned for its untouched beauty, thermal winds, trails and access to both Nitinaht Lake and the Caycuse River.
Each year it fills up fast – with kite surfers and windsurfers from all over the world journeying to their mecca, as well as nature lovers and West Coast Trail hikers. Book your campsite early, and make sure to read our tips for getting here and ‘leave no trace’ camping.
The 2019 expansion plans for the campsite and services have commenced with plans for 120 tent sites and 12 RV sites. The Nitinaht Lake Campground sits on 150 hectares, following the shores of Nitinaht Lake and the winding Caycuse River.
