Things to do and places to go
The Nitinaht Region has been home to the Ditidaht People for over 5,000 years. Come, walk in the footsteps of our ancestors on the epic West Coast Trail, ride the legendary winds of Nitinaht Lake, sit with some of the planet’s oldest and largest trees in Carmanah Walbran and Pacific Rim Parks, and listen to the stories of our people. All of this and more is here in one beautiful, remarkably untouched place. Disconnect from your everyday life and connect with everything. Here @Nitinaht.
West Coast Trail
The world’s best hike just got even better.
The West Coast Trail is epic on so many levels: gorgeous beaches, cool caves, hidden pocket coves, weird cliffs and a lifetime of memories. And now it’s even easier to get on the trail: we’re a new (third) entry point for West Coast Trail, and we’re offering shorter hikes and comfort camping for “weekend warriors” and more casual adventurers who may not wish to hike all 75 kilometres of the trail.

Nitinaht Lake
Windriders don’t call this place Mecca for nothing.
The solid truth is the winds at Nitinaht Lake will never let you down. Some call Nitinaht Canada’s largest salt water lake, but really it’s a 20-kilometre ocean fjord with unique geological features that produce remarkably consistent, strong winds. Of course a lake this beautiful is meant to be shared, and kayakers, canoeists and sports fishers create their own amazing stories here too.
